Darrin Rohr
President, CEO, Owner and Chief Servant
Division: Darrin
Born in California, raised in Kansas. Graduated from Washburn University with a BA in Psychology and earned my MA in Industrial Psychology from The University of Tulsa. Prior to HH Staffing Services, I spent 30 years working in HR with large multi-national organizations as well as small to medium size companies across various industries. When not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Margaret, my two sons John Dalton and Mitchell and of course, our two “girls” Stella and Lulu, our two Great Pyrenees dogs.
When not working, I enjoy racing triathlons having completed the Hawaiian Ironman 3 times. The longest day at the office, can never come close to one day spent on the lava fields of Kona, Hawaii. “Mahalo” to all.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: Founder and former Race Director for one of the largest kid focused runs in the United States. Proceeds benefit physical education programs. Thousands of kids’ lives have been positively changed forever and for better. Help a child, change our world. This is my most memorable Helping Hand moment.
(Watch the 3:30 minute video to learn why Darrin is so passionate about helping people and what that means to you.)
Karen Veliz
Business Manager
Division: Darrin
I was born and raised in the corn and bean fields of northern Illinois, until after college where I spent several years working in the suburbs of Chicago for a large international company. I have lived in southern California and beautiful South Carolina before my venture to warm, sunny Florida, where I have worked for HH Staffing for nearly four years. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my husband, five children, one granddaughter, and two rescue dogs.
When I am not working at HH Staffing, I work with my husband on our family-owned business of remodeling and designing homes. I also enjoy the beach, traveling, reading, and hiking in the Carolinas.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: Our family enjoyed a trip to Guatemala where we brought Christmas presents of clothing and toys to the children with few belongings, and just to see their faces light up was worth more than words. I also enjoy working with our church to deliver food to those in need in our nearby neighborhoods. Giving back to others is my Helping Hand moment.

I consider myself New Jersey raised and born in Cuba. I recently became an official Sarasota resident. I’m a people person and I enjoy the rewards to see your efforts change customers’ lives and goals. I had the pleasure to experienced 20 years in the Higher Education industry in admin support role and enjoy every single second.
I attribute my love to help people to my family who immigrated to the United States and understand the importance helping and supporting thy neighbor. We all have a starting point from zero and community and networking is part of the American story. When I’m not working is family time and we are a Yorkie doggy family and is all fun and quality time together. On my free time from work I love retail therapy and going into nature.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment:
The patience and kindness of all my co-workers as they are taking extra steps to make sure I feel naturally part of team and locally. Looking forward to continue to grow and help.
Jessica Jensen
Director of Staffing
Division: Fort Myers , Sarasota
Born in Ohio but consider myself a Florida native since I moved here at a very young age. Prior to HH Staffing, I spent over 15 years working with one of the largest banks in the U.S. as a branch manager, service manager, and customer relations manager. When not working, I cherish spending time with my husband of 14 years and my four-legged child, Dodger.
During my spare time, I would prefer to be on a cruise ship or traveling. I also enjoy painting, boating with friends, spending time with my family, and volunteering at local animal shelters.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: It is so important taking pride and ownership of the city that we live in! Volunteering, giving back to the community, and helping others to change their lives for the better through employment opportunities has been an essential part of who I am!
Jane O’Connor
Office Manager
Division: Sarasota
Originally from Indiana and still loving Sarasota. I began working at HH Staffing in June 2015 as a receptionist. In my role as receptionist and customer service specialist, I go above and beyond to serve our candidates’ and clients’ needs each and every day.
I have two amazing sons whom I love very much. My favorite free-time activities include the beach, reading and traveling.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: By conservative estimations, given the number of emails, voicemails and live phone calls that I have the honor to answer each and every day, I have been able to help roughly 200,000 people since coming to work here at HH Staffing nearly three years ago and I am not done helping people yet. I have the most fulfilling job in the company!
Ashley Hout
AR/AP Supervisor
Division: Sarasota (support)
Just recently relocated to the Sarasota area this past month from Buffalo, NY. I graduated from Bryant & Stratton College in 2012 with an Associate degree while working full time in a placement agency and becoming a first-time mother. After having worked in different industries outside of staffing, I am happy to be a part of a dedicated team once again. When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my two little girls who seem to love make-overs as much as they love the beach. If I have kid-free time, I enjoy reading or horseback riding.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: At least once a month I like to pay for someone’s order in the drive-thru. Typically, it would be in line at a coffee shop, such as Tim Horton’s (which is a Buffalo thing) or Starbucks. I feel surprising someone with a little treat helps bring a smile to their day and hope that they “pass it on.”

Born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Graduated from the University of Puerto Rico with a BS in Natural Sciences and a Minor in Philosophy. Prior to moving to Florida, I worked in the boating and marine service industry for 17 years. In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, going to the beach or for an in-line skating ride, playing music and making songs.
In the aftermath of a catastrophic hurricane, I reached out to friends who welcomed me in their home and during that time of transition, I was greeted with an opportunity to work. That experience made me realize the importance of community. Now, in my journey of self-development I've found purpose in serving others. The most memorable thing about serving is the more you give, the more you open yourself to receive.

“As a native of the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo, and raised in Miami, FL, I absolutely enjoy all the great things South Florida has to offer. From the tasty food trucks from all different cultures, the eclectic Art scene in Wynwood, to the sunny beaches of Fort Lauderdale. I love it all! Mostly, I enjoy spending time with family and being a mommy to my very special daughter who I adoringly refer to as ‘Mommy’s Sweet, Sweet Treasure.’ (Don’t tell her I told you, I would definitely get the teenage eye roll!) I have been in the staffing industry since 2014 conducting full cycle recruitment for different verticals and what I appreciate the most about it is helping my clients find the best talent possible, assisting candidates in finding their dream career and/or means to provide for their families and developing recruiters to serve others with the highest standards!
During my spare time, I love attending Church and creating artwork that reflects my faith. My favorite mediums to use are oil, acrylic, and ceramics. On most weekends, you can find me painting with my daughter, niece, and nephews to encourage their creative minds and inspire their love for the Arts.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: I’ve had many remarkable Helping Hand Moments where I’ve had the privilege to help others however, my most memorable helping hand moment was when someone helped me. I began my career in recruitment 9 years ago at my first recruitment firm and I was blessed to learn directly from my spectacular mentor Lori Caristo, who I appreciate dearly. I owe most of my success in this industry to the valuable knowledge imparted to me under her leadership and for that, I am forever grateful.”

My Journey in the world of Staffing began 7 years ago, when I started as a recruiter and then I had the opportunity to move in different areas within the company and industry where I finally concentrated more on the Marketing area focused on the Staffing industry. When I am not at work I spend a lot of time with my family and friends, I am a passionate musician and I like to play drums, guitar among others.
Most Memorable Helping Hand Moment: I like to help in every possible way and I have had the opportunity to help people with different needs through my music, either by making presentations that raise money for charitable causes or teaching at the time to people who did not have access to learn. to play a musical instrument etc.

LuLu "Lu" Rohr
Company Mascot #1
Division: Retired
LuLu, Sarasota, Company Mascot #1
My name is LuLu but those who know me best call me “Lu”. I’m a Great Pyrenees Dog living in Florida. Go figure, right? I had nothing to do with moving here, I mean, just look at me, I could easily double as a Polar Bear and just how many Polar Bears do you know who live in steamy hot Florida?
My two main purposes in life, are keeping my “Master Mom” happy and safe (I’ve been known to slip a wet kiss unexpectedly on her from time to time) and keeping my younger twin sister/litter mate Stella out of trouble because trouble is Stella’s middle name.
Stella "Troublemaker" Rohr
Company Mascot #2
Division: Retired
Sarasota, Company Mascot #2
My name is Stella. I’m also a Great Pyrenees and just like my twin sister Lu, I very easily could double as a Polar Bear as well. Yes, I am a trouble maker, not as much of a trouble maker as company mascot #3, but I am certainly a trouble maker. I can explain it all away however by just saying that I was the last puppy out of the liter of seven. I was the baby, I’m still the baby, a big, very big baby but I am still the baby of the liter and I am use to getting things my way.
My purpose in life? To give my sister Lu purpose in her life by watching out for me, and occasionally getting me out of trouble with our Master Mom. Lu does a great job with that purpose and I give her many “daily” opportunities to serve that purpose.
Scarlett "Bugga" Rohr
Company Mascot #3
Division: Retired
Sarasota, Company Mascot #3
My name is Scarlet and I’m a rescue. I’m everything but a purebred. I’m more like a little bit of this and a little bit of that and whole lot of everything else. Those who know me best call me “Bugga”. They call me Bugga because I Bug the heck out of everybody all the time. I could sit, stay, rollover and bark when told to but it’s just more fun doing whatever the heck that I want to do, wherever, and whenever I want to do it.
Things I enjoy doing with my “Twin Sisters” (yes, we are triplets, can’t you tell?), but I really enjoy running up behind my sisters and biting them on their bottom and running off, or taking my sisters toys and running off with them, or running my sisters all around the backyard until they run out of energy which really doesn’t take too long in this Florida heat. Yeah, I pretty much just bug the heck out of my two twin sisters. We make a really good team my two twin sisters and me but I think sometimes we drive our Master’s just a little bit crazy!
