How’s Business Going For You?

It’s hard to believe that 2019 is past the half-way point. What an incredible year it has been for so many companies in Florida and across the United States. I could get boring with this topic and talk about leading economic indicators include various indices, earnings reports, and economic summaries, unemployment rates- blah, blah, blah. Instead of sounding like your economics teacher, let’s just celebrate huge wins together. In June of this year, our current economic recovery became the longest one on record. Let’s keep this momentum going, and I believe that we can!

In order to make it personal, let me tell you something incredible from each of our offices here in Florida. Below are just a few examples out of the hundreds of stories of success, wealth creation, strong profits and more that I hear from other CEOs, client partners and that I read about in various business journals and news outlets.

Florida’s economy is booming because of innovation, risk taking and other factors. We have a strong STEM push and a deeply educated talent pool which makes Florida a great place for business. Our low tax structure makes it easy to attract new developments and new investments here. Oh, and I recently read where Florida’s weather was ranked second best in the US! What state was ranked #1 you might being asking yourself? The Aloha State = Hawaii. Wait, that’s not fair, Hawaii is an island, or is it a State? Of course it’s both so Hawaii wins.

Around the State

Orlando

Orlando was recently recognized as one of the best places in the nation to launch a small business and has the business infrastructure in place to support larger enterprises as well. https://www.cnbc.com/2019/07/15/these-are-the-best-places-to-launch-a-small-business-in-america.html

“Orlando ranks among the top U.S. cities when it comes to its share of profitable businesses, based on Census Bureau data.

The City Beautiful ranks No. 28 out of 50 U.S. metro areas reporting the largest share of profitable businesses, according to a new report from online lending marketplace LendingTree. To determine the rankings, researchers compared the total number of firms with employees in a metro area to the number of firms in a metro area reporting profits, and calculated a percentage.

According to the report, nearly 64.65% of businesses in Orlando recorded a profit. …”

Call to Arms

I could go on and on about businesses doing well and so many other factors, but I’ll stop. Sure, trade discussions start next week between the US and China and who knows how those discussions may affect the psychology of our economy. The Fed is meeting later this week to discuss cutting the interest rates, or not, and that may also have a psychological effect on people but those are short term blimps in our otherwise strong economy so let’s keep the momentum going and do all that we can do to extend this economic expansion to the point that no future generations will ever surpass. Person by person, business owner by business owner, CEO by CEO, let’s keep these courageous behaviors up and keep the investments going as we continue to make our country the best that we can possibly be, for all!
